The Cabernet d'Anjou 2023 is a sophisticated demi-sec rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc, from the Loire region and made from 15-year-old vines on alluvial soils. The wine sparkles in the glass with a pale pink colour and salmon hints. On the nose, it opens expressively with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red currant and floral notes such as rose petals, rounded off with a hint of honey and citrus.
On the palate, this rosé is elegant and soft, with a pleasant freshness that perfectly balances the light sweetness. Flavours of juicy red fruits are complemented by subtle hints of watermelon and candied lemon. The delicate minerality and low alcohol content give the wine a refined mouthfeel and a surprisingly long, fresh finish.
The Cabernet d'Anjou is best when drunk young, at a serving temperature of between 8 and 10°C. It is ideal as a summer aperitif, but also a versatile companion to dishes such as goat cheese salad with raspberry dressing, sushi with salmon or slightly spicy Thai curry. Also delicious with a fruity pavlova or strawberry sorbet.
