Pigalle is a wine that harks back to the first spark of emotion, to the vibrant atmosphere of a neighbourhood full of neon lights, nocturnal hubbub and carefree moments. It is inspired by memories of light, cheerful wines drunk with enthusiasm at bar zinc or under the white tablecloths of nocturnal bistros. That spontaneous energy is at the heart of this cuvée, created specifically to rekindle that feeling.
This Vin de France is the result of a collaboration with Nicolas Roux, winemaker in Mourens and a convinced organic farmer for many years. The wine consists of 100 per cent Malbec from clay-limestone soils, grapes that have developed intense minerality and lively energy thanks to their environment. Vinification is completely natural, with minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to retain their pure character. After harvesting, extraction takes place via gentle infusion, without the addition of selected yeasts or sulphites, and the wine is bottled unclarified and unfiltered.
Pigalle is an explosion of red fruit, playful, juicy and irresistibly refreshing, ideal as a prelude to lively evenings. It is a wine that likes to please immediately, with a light effervescence and open character. Serve it lightly chilled and, if necessary, deglaze it briefly to bring out its freshness to full effect. It pairs beautifully with tapas, grilled vegetables or a simple pasta arrabbiata, with its youthful vitality adding sparkle.
