Product description
This wine is made from 100% Cornalin, a characterful grape native to the Valle d'Aosta and closely related to the better-known Fumin. Both varieties have played an important role in regional viticulture since the 19th century. The grapes are harvested in late October in Saint-Pierre, at around 700 metres above sea level, where the southeast exposure and sandy soils ensure ripe fruit while maintaining freshness and aromatic tension.
After harvesting, the grapes are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine matures further in stainless steel to fully preserve the purity of the Cornalin and is ready to be bottled around May. In the glass, it shows an intense red colour with aromas of blackberry and plum, complemented by elegant spiciness, black pepper and a subtle tannic structure that gives the wine tension and depth.
This Cornalin is best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 18 to 20 degrees. The wine develops beautifully in bottle, with roundness, elegance and ripe fruit becoming increasingly prominent. At the table, it makes a natural pairing with red meat and game dishes, but also goes well with mature cheeses.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: β¬6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
