Fumarin is Barbera with depth and maturity - a wine that owes its name to the autumnal mists that embrace the vineyards. The grapes come from the sunniest and ripest plots and are hand-harvested for optimum maturity. Careful selection is followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel with skin contact for about 20 days, with gentle extraction daily to build structure and aromatic richness.
After fermentation, the wine matures for about 10 months in French oak tonneaux, followed by further refinement in bottle. This combination of wood and bottle ageing gives Fumarin its layered character and makes it both immediately accessible and suitable for further development. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with violet hues, underlining its concentration and intensity.
The aromatic profile is rich and complex, with notes of ripe cherry, plum and wild berries intertwined with spicy accents, cocoa and a hint of tobacco. Subtle wood tones and earthy nuances add extra depth. On the palate, the wine is full and enveloping, with silky tannins and fresh acidity that brings balance and length. The finish is long, intense and refined, with a nice combination of fruit, spice and balsamic notes. A Barbera with character and clear storage potential.
