Brandimarte Romagna Albana Secco is an expressive and characterful white wine from Riolo Terme in Emilia-Romagna. The south-facing vineyards lie on hills with an ideal microclimate, thanks to the influence of the sea and the natural protection of the hillsides. The soil consists of clay, gravel, salts and gypsum deposits from the historic gypsum formations of the Vena del Gesso, a UNESCO site, which gives the wine its distinct minerality and structure.
Albana grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and carefully selected. After gentle pressing, the grapes ferment at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, followed by a six-month ageing process. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation, fully preserving its fresh and aromatic character. After two months of bottle rest, the wine is released to the market.
In the glass, the Romagna Albana Secco shows a rich and convincing character with aromas of ripe peach, almond blossom and subtle floral nuances. On the palate, it is velvety, well-structured and elegant, with a long, fresh finish. This wine is ideal with stuffed pastas, fish dishes and semi-ripened cheeses.
