The Il Picchio Rosato is an elegant and refreshing rosé from Marche, made from 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. This combination brings together the best of both grapes: the fruity softness and structure of Montepulciano combined with the refined freshness and depth of Sangiovese. The result is an accessible but surprisingly characterful rosé that is perfect for sunny days and convivial moments at the table.
In the glass, the wine shines with a bright light pink colour. The bouquet is dominated by aromas of white peach, raspberry and strawberry, supported by subtle floral nuances. The palate is fresh, fruity and harmonious, with lively acidity providing tension and balance. Beneath the juicy fruit lurks a surprising depth thanks to the combination of Montepulciano and Sangiovese. The finish is rich, elegant and pleasantly long.
This versatile rosé is excellent with spicy dishes such as curry and tagine, but also goes perfectly with salmon, lamb, grilled vegetables, seafood, rosé roast pork and fresh salads. Its fresh character also makes it an ideal wine for an aperitif or a summer lunch.
