Product description
Sauvignon Blanc found its way to Friuli at the end of the 19th century and soon proved to be ideally suited to the soil and climate of the Colli Orientali. The first plantings at Ronchi di Manzano date back to the 1970s, giving the vineyards an average age of 40 years. These mature vines lend this grape variety a richness and depth not found in younger plantings.
After harvest, the grapes undergo overnight cryomaceration at 0°C. Vinification and maturation take place in stainless steel, followed by two months’ bottle ageing. Deep straw-yellow in the glass. The nose is intense, broad and refined, with aromatic herbs and refreshing yellow grapefruit. On the palate, it is dry, fresh, persistent, well-balanced and savoury on the finish.
Excellent with fish dishes, particularly shellfish and crustaceans, and also an interesting pairing with vegetable-based risottos. Serve at 10–12°C.
