Jocu Nero d'Avola by Quattrocieli is an organic red wine that showcases the warmth and depth of Sicily in pure form. The grapes grow in Cozzo Amodeo near Gibellina, at 250 metres altitude, where sun-drenched days and Mediterranean influences ensure perfect ripening. Harvesting is done manually, with careful selection of the best bunches to ensure concentration and balance.
Destemming is followed by a skin soaking and an eighteen-day fermentation at 25Ā°C. The wine then ages for 14 months in stainless steel tanks and a further four months in French oak barrels. This combination preserves fruit intensity while adding structure and refinement. The nose reveals ripe notes of black cherry and plum, subtly complemented by Mediterranean herbs and spicy accents.
On the palate, Jocu Nero d'Avola is supple and balanced, with round tannins and a pleasant freshness that supports the ripe fruit. The finish is long, with a delicate hint of liquorice underlining the grape's character. A versatile red wine that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, pastas with rich sauces and mature cheeses.
