The Primitivo from Cantine Miali's Single Vineyard series is a characterful red wine originating from a vineyard with calcareous and clay soils at 200 metres altitude in the heart of the Valle d'Itria. The grapes are harvested manually in the first days of September, after which they undergo gentle pressing and maceration at controlled temperature for about 10 days. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the pure expression of the grape.
The result is a deep red wine with purple sparkles, which immediately impresses in the nose with intense aromas of ripe cherries, blackcurrants and amarena. On the palate, the wine is full and firm, with a long finish in which a delicate touch of almond comes through. Thanks to its structure and lively acidity (6 g/l), this wine is not only powerful, but also balanced and elegant.
This Primitivo comes into its own with roasted or stuffed meats, barbecue dishes, mature cheeses and fine meats. Serve it at 18°C to make the most of its rich aromas and full-bodied flavour. Cantine Miali proves once again with this cuvée why their philosophy - craftsmanship, terroir and tradition - comes so strongly to life in the glass.
