The 'Ried Frauenfeld' St. Laurent Reserve is an impressive red wine of exceptional class. Sourced from the stony terroir of the Frauenfeld - one of the best vineyards in the world for St Laurent - this wine shows the full potential of the grape. The perfect ripeness of the grapes, combined with 24 months of barrel aging in small oak barrels, results in a wine of deep complexity and refinement.
In the glass, this St Laurent presents itself powerful and noble, with a fragrant intensity of dark fruit, ripe cherries and fine spiciness. The texture is silky smooth, the structure creamy and harmonious. On the palate, it develops with finesse and concentration, ending in a long, elegant finish with subtle wood tones and depth.
This wine demands culinary counterparts with character. It is an excellent companion to game dishes, stewed red meat or aged cheeses. Serve at 17-18°C to express its full aromatic power. An award-winning top wine with 92 points from Falstaff and 93 from A la Carte, among others.
