Tenuta Pescarina's Torre Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC is an organic red wine that combines power and elegance. The grapes grow on the hills of Spoltore, on chalky clay soils with gravel, where they ripen optimally thanks to the favourable location. After the manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with a 10- to 12-day skin maceration. The wine then ages for seven months on steel and a further four months in bottle, allowing its character to fully develop.
In the glass, Torre shows in a deep ruby colour with purple reflections. The aroma is intense and fruity, with notes of ripe cherries and berries. On the palate, the wine is warm, full and persistent, with a harmonious balance between fruitiness and structure. The result is a wine that stays true to the Montepulciano tradition while offering finesse and drinking pleasure.
This Montepulciano is an excellent companion to grilled meats, pastas with rich meat sauces and semi-ripened cheeses. Its firm structure and warm finish also make it suitable to share with long dinners or cosy evenings.
