Hof Breitenstein's Weißer Burgunder Spätlese 2024 from the Nahe region is an elegant and refined wine that combines late-harvested grapes with the fresh style of the region. In the glass, it shines with a bright golden yellow colour and a soft sheen. Thanks to the late harvest, the grapes develop extra aromatic intensity and ripe fruit, giving this wine a particularly charming character.
The nose reveals refined aromas of ripe pear, apple and yellow stone fruit, complemented by subtle honeyed and floral notes. Weißer Burgunder - known internationally as Pinot Blanc - is known for its elegant and harmonious style, and in this Spätlese that character comes out beautifully. The ripe fruit is nicely supported by a soft structure and a subtle residual sweetness.
On the palate, the wine is round and supple with a nice balance of ripe fruit, fresh acidity and a slight sweetness. The texture remains elegant and refined, while the finish is long and fruity. This makes this wine not only delicious as an aperitif, but also a perfect companion to light desserts or soft cheeses.
