Hof Breitenstein's Dornfelder Mild 2021 from the Nahe region is an accessible and fruit-driven red wine with a soft, round style. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red colour with purple reflections, typical of the Dornfelder grape. This wine combines an intense fruity character with a slight residual sweetness, making it particularly smooth and enjoyable to drink.
The nose reveals rich aromas of ripe cherries, blackcurrants and plums, complemented by subtle spicy accents. Dornfelder is known for its deep colour and full fruit aromas, and in this milder style those characteristics are further emphasised. The ripe fruit gains more expression thanks to the soft sweetness.
On the palate, the wine is round and soft with a velvety texture. The slight residual sweetness makes the wine particularly accessible, while fresh acidity provides balance and liveliness.
