Weingut Fischer's Zweigelt Classic BIO 2020 is a characterful red wine from organically cultivated vineyards, made from 100% Zweigelt sourced from 38-year-old vines. The wine matured for 18 months in large wooden barrels, which gives it its depth and structure without losing its fresh fruit.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red colour with a purple edge. The nose is refined and still youthful, with juicy aromas of ripe forest fruits, spices and subtle tobacco notes. On the palate, it is supple and juicy, with wild berries in the foreground, supported by a slight spiciness and a soft, integrated tannic structure that makes for an elegant finish.
A versatile table wine, this Zweigelt is excellent with dishes such as grilled meats, pasta dishes with mushrooms, stuffed peppers or soft cheeses. Serve lightly chilled at around 16°C to make the most of its fruity and spicy character.
