Estano's Catarratto Bianco Oaked is an organic wine that beautifully expresses the rich flavours of Sicily. Grown on the mineral-rich heights of Baglio Estano, near Mazara del Vallo, this wine offers a refined and full-bodied taste experience. The particular terroir, located at about 650 metres above sea level, consists of mineral-rich clay soils of medium texture. These unique conditions contribute to the wine's complexity and depth.

The harvest of this Catarratto takes place in the last week of September, with the grapes carefully selected and picked by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, ensuring a controlled and refined fermentation process. After fermentation, the wine matures for 4-8 months in Vicard French oak barriques. This ageing gives the wine a robust structure with delicate hints of hazelnut and subtle smoky aromas. At 4 months of ageing, the wood notes are still subtly present, while 8 months of ageing provides deeper complexity and more pronounced wood flavours.

This Catarratto Bianco Oaked has a straw yellow colour and in the nose reveals notes of ripe yellow apples, enriched with sweet nuances of honey and dried apricots, finished with delicate almond notes. On the tongue, the robust structure and harmonious balance of flavours make for an elegant drinking experience. Light smoky character and hints of hazelnut complete the flavour experience. This wine is a perfect companion to culinary dishes such as seafood, game, red meat and aged cheeses. Its refined character also makes it perfect for pairing with rich sauces. The ideal serving temperature is between 10 and 12°C.
