Poggio al Bosco is a family business with a deep-rooted love of wine, land and tradition. The story begins in 1960, when great-grandfather Giovanni decided to change his family's life by making the move from tenant farmers to own vineyards. Together with his sons Primo and Mario, he bought the land in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the heart of Chianti, exactly halfway between Florence and Siena. Here, on the rolling hills surrounded by green forests, the first vines were planted and diligently tended - a labour of love that formed the basis for the quality and authenticity of Poggio al Bosco.
