Poggio al Bosco's Vin Santo del Chianti DOC Riserva is an organic dessert wine that embodies the true soul of Tuscany. This traditional passito wine is made from Trebbiano and Malvasia Lunga del Chianti grapes, which dry slowly after harvest to concentrate their natural sugars and aromas. The must then ferments in small, historic wooden barrels - the typical caratelli - where the wine matures for years. This process, which stays completely true to the methods of the family's grandparents, results in a wine that uniquely combines tradition, patience and craftsmanship.
After this long ageing, the Vin Santo del Chianti Riserva develops a deep amber colour and a seductive, complex aroma. On the nose, notes of honey, dried apricot, almond and fig dominate, while the palate is soft, velvety and harmonious. The wine is intense but never heavy - each sip offers a perfect balance between sweetness, freshness and elegance. With its 17% alcohol and exceptional storage potential, this is a wine that will only get richer and more refined with age.
This Vin Santo is ideal to end a meal with or to enjoy quietly at a special moment. It pairs beautifully with Tuscan almond biscuits (cantuccini), apricot or chestnut tarts and even blue cheeses. Serve it lightly chilled, between 8 and 12Ā°C, to fully unleash its velvety texture and luscious aromas.
