Cantina Santo Iolo
Umbria, Narni
Cantina Santo Iolo is not a wine estate with centuries-old family roots or noble ancestors. It all began quite simply in 2003, when Irene and Livia’s parents bought a beautiful piece of hilly land in Narni, right in front of their country house, and immediately planted it with vines. Since then, the estate has grown to 20 hectares, comprising 6 hectares of vineyard, a cellar carved into the hillside, a panoramic terrace for tastings, a charming 19th-century country house and a large vegetable garden. Today, the two sisters, Irene and Livia, run the business: Irene, as an oenologist, is responsible for the cellar and the vineyard, whilst Livia, as a landscape architect, is in charge of hospitality. Young, female and independent.
