Tenuta La Tenaglia’s roots date back to the 17th century, when the governor of Moncalvo, Giorgio Tenaglia – a renowned mercenary captain from Mantua with a great passion for Barbera – chose this enchanting part of Monferrato as his wine-growing retreat. Overlooking the vineyards stands the Sacro Monte di Crea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that lends historic grandeur to the amphitheatre of vines. In 2001, the estate found its new purpose when the Bavarian Ehrmann family fell in love with this land and decided to stay. Today, Sabine manages the estate together with her children, Luigi and Isabella, with expertise, creativity and a deep love for the place.
