The ‘Paradiso’ chapel at the Sacro Monte di Crea is the highlight of the sanctuary’s devotional route: more than 300 statues made of clay and plaster, 175 angels carrying the Virgin Mary to heaven, saints, prophets and angelic musicians painted on the ceiling. A Baroque scene of unprecedented dramatic power. The name of this wine pays homage to that exceptional place, a testament to faith, art, history and identity.
The Syrah is grown on the clay-marl soils of the south-western slope of Tenuta La Tenaglia, at an altitude of 400–450 metres. Following traditional fermentation, the wine matures for a year in small 225-litre French oak barrels, followed by at least 18 months in the bottle. In the glass, the Paradiso offers a broad aromatic profile with black pepper, raspberries and berry jam. On the palate, it is elegant and full-bodied, with a pleasant astringency and tannins rounded by the barriques.
Excellent with red meat, game and medium-mature cheeses. Serve at 18–20°C and allow it to breathe before serving.
