The Riesling (k) 2022 is Lichti & Astroh's first single-vineyard Riesling from Freya's home village of Laumersheim, and also already produced to organic ECOVIN standards. This spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, followed by a 12-month maturation without filtration, produces a crystal-clear expression of the chalky terroir.
On the nose, this wine shows spicy and subtly floral, with nuances of lemon balm, verbena and ripe peach. The palate is tight and fresh, with lively acidity, juicy citrus and stone fruit notes, a hint of nut butter and a striking saline minerality. The structure is nimble yet grippy, with a lingering, dry finish that both invigorates and intrigues.
With 86 points on wein.plus, 88 in the Eichelmann 2024 and a mention in the Gault&Millau "Best of Natural Wines" (2 grapes), this is an expressive Riesling with focus and finesse.
