Lichti & Astroh's Sauvignon Blanc(s) is a characterful white wine that mirrors the elegance of Sancerre, but is firmly rooted in the loess loam soils of the Palatinate. This 2021 edition was spontaneously fermented and matured for 12 months in used 500-litre tonneaux, before being bottled unfiltered. The result is a premium country wine with a distinct personality.
On the nose, this wine presents an expressive and layered bouquet with smoky and nutty notes, complemented by aromas of root vegetables, ripe yellow fruit, floral accents and a hint of mushroom. On the palate, the ripe, unctuous texture stands out, with vegetal and buttery nuances, subtle use of wood and fine acidity that provides balance and length. The finish is soft and refined, with slightly spicy undertones and minerality.
