Château des Gravières 2024 - Bordeaux AOC is a classic white Bordeaux from the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, near the village of Saint-Germain-des-Graves. Since 1948, this château has been part of the family estate of the Darriet family, now the sixth generation of winemakers. The wine has been bottled on the estate itself since 1960 and is known for its pure style and accessible storage potential.
The vineyards cover 15 hectares on clay and calcareous soils. Plantings consist of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon, with vines averaging 40 years old. A gentle pneumatic pressing is followed by a 12- to 18-hour skin maceration under nitrogen. Spontaneous fermentation takes place at 18°C in temperature-controlled tanks, after which the wine matures for four months on the lie to develop additional roundness and structure.
In the glass, the 2024 reveals itself as a typical Bordeaux Blanc: fresh and lively, with aromas of freshly cut grass and gooseberries. The palate is carried by refreshing citrus acids and a tight, elegant finish. A versatile white wine that is excellent with seafood, light fish dishes or as an aperitif. Moreover, the château is certified with High Environmental Value Level 3 and awarded by US magazine Wine Enthusiast.
