Château Moutin 2019 - Graves AOC comes from Portets, the heart of the Graves appellation. This family estate, owned by the same family for over 200 years, is situated on typical clay- and gravel-rich Graves soils that provide structure and depth. With a vineyard area of 3 hectares and vines averaging 40 to 50 years old, quality is central here.
The wine is composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sémillon. The entire harvest is destemmed on entry to the cellar, followed by an alcoholic fermentation of 8 to 10 days with daily remontages. Maceration lasts 25 to 30 days to achieve maximum extraction of aroma and structure. The wine is then aged for 18 to 24 months in French oak barriques, 50% of which are new and 50% one-year old, ensuring balance between fruit and wood.
In the glass, the 2019 shows itself powerful yet refined. On the palate, ripe red fruits emerge, harmoniously intertwined with vanilla notes, spicy accents and a subtle hint of liquorice. The tannins are soft and round, giving the wine both accessible and storage potential. A classic, characterful Graves that pairs excellently with red meat, lamb dishes and aged cheeses.
