Weingut Hindler's Blauer Portugieser Ried Längen is a special wine from the Weinviertel region, made from one of Austria's oldest and rarest grape varieties. This variety is even listed in the international catalogue of Slow Food, in the "Arche of Taste" category, and is protected there as cultural heritage. Due to the thin skin of the grapes, cultivation requires a lot of care and manual work, but the reward is a wine characterised by freshness, elegance and distinct drinking pleasure.
In the glass, this wine shows delicate aromas of red berries, complemented by delicate notes of raspberries and blueberries. The palate is lively and fresh with a crisp elegance, bringing together juicy fruitiness and a soft tannic structure. Maturation in large oak barrels adds depth without overpowering the pure fruit expression, keeping the wine both approachable and full of character.
Ideal for drinking young, Hindler's Blauer Portugieser is best enjoyed in the company of light dishes. It makes a refined pairing with poultry, roasted vegetables or a charcuterie board, but is also delicious to simply enjoy on its own.
