With the Malvasier Tradition, Weingut Hindler pays homage to an ancient grape variety and the original viticulture of the Weinviertel region. The 65-year-old vines grow on chalky molasse soils and produce ripe, flavour-intensive grapes that are fermented naturally. As before, fermentation takes place on the skins and pips, after which the wine is processed without pressing and according to the gravity principle. Bottled unfiltered, this natural wine retains its authentic strength and character.
On the nose, the Malvasier shows itself to be spicy and aromatic with nuances of red berries and ripe apple. On the tongue, it is dry and rich in extract, with a lively fruitiness supported by a fine tannic structure. The ageing in large wood and stainless steel gives the wine an extra dimension and lets the pure expression of the grape and terroir speak for itself.
This rare wine is both exciting and versatile at the table. It is delicious as an aperitif for lovers of natural wines, but also comes into its own with powerful dishes such as stewed meat, grilled vegetables or mature cheeses.
