The Grüner Veltliner Ried Öhlberg Reserve from Weingut Hindler is a wine of depth and elegance, from 50-year-old vines growing on granite with a calcareous topsoil. This poor, mineral-rich terroir gives the wine a distinct character and impressive aromatic complexity. In the nose, we find ripe notes of stone fruit, subtly complemented by a hint of exotic fruit.
On the tongue, the wine presents itself full and round, with refined spiciness and harmonious balance. The spontaneous fermentation in large wooden barrels and the ten months of aging "sur lie" provide additional structure and length, making this Grüner Veltliner not only delicious now, but also able to age beautifully. The grape's characteristic "Pfefferl" gives the wine an exciting, fresh touch that underlines its complexity.
This reserve wine is an excellent companion to rich dishes. It goes particularly well with roast poultry, veal or dishes with creamy sauces, but also pairs elegantly with refined fish dishes or a selection of mature cheeses.
