Weingut Hindler's Hüttenberg Reserve is a characterful cuvée of Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend brings together the best of three grapes and reflects the special terroir of Schrattenthal, Austria's smallest wine town. On the nose, the wine opens with ripe aromas of black cherries and dark berries, framed by subtle notes of bitter chocolate.
On the palate, the wine shows itself powerful yet elegant, with a full structure and ripe tannins that are perfectly integrated. The juicy fruitiness of blueberries is harmoniously supported by spicy touches of Merlot and Cabernet, while the 18-month ageing in small barriques gives the wine extra depth, complexity and a long, fruity finish.
This reserve wine is the ideal companion to rich dishes and sophisticated dinners. It pairs beautifully with grilled red meat, game dishes or stews, and is also an excellent choice with hard, aged cheeses.
