Birbantéo Umbria Bianco IGT is an expressive and elegant white wine from the hills of Bevagna, in the green heart of Umbria. The vineyards are at 250 to 350 metres altitude and benefit from a southeast exposure that ensures freshness, light and a long growing season. The wine is made from 100 per cent local Trebbiano grapes, from 15-year-old vines growing on clay soils with limestone formations and loess. These soils give the wine its distinctive minerality, tension and pure aromatic expression.
Vinification is done entirely in stainless steel to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Birbantéo then undergoes a maturation of about six months on fine lie, giving it a subtle creaminess and extra depth in aroma and flavour. Annual production is just 5,000 bottles, which highlights Mevante's artisanal and meticulous approach. Thanks to this meticulous approach, the authenticity of Trebbiano comes out beautifully here: bright, pure and at the same time structured.
In the glass, Birbantéo shows a straw yellow colour with green reflections. The nose opens with delicate notes of white flowers, balsamic accents and juicy white peach. On the palate, the wine is round and supple, with fine freshness and harmonious briny undertones that give it length. Birbantéo is a versatile wine that excels as an aperitif, but also goes perfectly with light fish dishes, salads, risotto with vegetables and soft cheeses. A fresh, refined Umbrian with a modern style and a strikingly elegant signature.
