Product description
Il Longhino is named after the highest hill of Dario Coos' estate. A place where the vineyards slowly wind their way up from the village of Ramandolo along narrow terraces, towards the silence of the forest and the fresh mountain air. Here, on the border of hills and mountains, the first sweet expression of Ramandolo emerges. Not heavy or cumbersome, but rather refined and pure. Il Longhino is seen as the first harvest, the first promise of the year, a wine that shows what this special area is capable of.
The grapes for this Ramandolo DOCG are harvested by hand, late in October, when the Verduzzo Friulano has reached full maturity. A brief cold soaking is followed by gentle pressing and a gentle fermentation in stainless steel. Everything is focused on precision and preservation of character. No excess, no rush. Just time, attention and the trust that nature has been doing its work here for centuries. The result is a wine with a deep golden yellow colour and a scent reminiscent of candied fruit, spices and a hint of vanilla.
On the palate, Il Longhino is sweet but never heavy. Fresh, mineral and lively, with a tension typical of Ramandolo. This is not a dessert wine that dominates, but one that accompanies and rounds off. Perfect with dry biscuits or simple sweet dishes, but also wonderful to drink on its own. Il Longhino tells the story of height, patience and tradition. A wine that shows that sweet and refined can go together perfectly.
