Product description
This Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2018 Bio is the most intense and concentrated expression of Valpolicella. The grapes grow on south-facing, terraced hills around 300 metres altitude in the classic area, on calcareous soils with clay and fossil deposits. The blend of 45% Corvina, 35% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella provides the basis for a wine with power, depth and a distinct terroir character. After harvesting, only the best grapes are selected and carefully aged for four months, with sugars, aromas and structure naturally concentrated.
Vinification is carried out entirely according to artisanal and organic principles, without the use of selected yeasts or technical interventions. Fermentation starts spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and takes place in small containers, partly with whole bunches, followed by a long maceration. The wine is then aged for at least two years in small ceramic vats, which ensures refinement and balance without overpowering the fruit. In the glass, this Amarone shows deep aromas of ripe cherries, dried plums and marasca, complemented by spicy notes and a warm, full-bodied structure.
On the palate, the wine is rich and powerful, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity and a long, layered finish. Despite its intensity, it retains elegance and tension, making it excellent for aging. Served between 15 and 25 degrees, this Amarone comes into its own with hearty meat dishes, stews, game and powerful cheeses, but also as a meditation wine after a meal.
