Product description
The 'Pepe Nero' Primitivo di Manduria DOP is a powerful and elegant red wine, made from 100% Primitivo grapes grown exclusively as non-irrigated Alberello vines - a traditional growing method in this region. The vineyards are located close to the sea, in the "Pepe" district of the Maruggio countryside, where the combination of climate and soil make an ideal terroir for this prestigious grape.
The grapes are harvested by hand in early September and undergo careful vinification, with aging in stainless steel and in bottle. The result is a wine with a deep ruby colour and intense purple reflections. In the nose, it shows refined and delicate, with aromas of strawberry and soft red fruits. On the palate, it is full and powerful, with a complex structure, a warm and dry finish, and an impressive intensity that lingers.
With an alcohol content of 16%, this Primitivo is a distinct wine that pairs excellently with rich dishes. It goes perfectly with pasta dishes with ragù, roasted meat, game, spicy dishes and hard cheeses. For the optimal experience, it is recommended to decant the wine and serve it at a temperature of 16-18 °C. An intense wine experience with roots in tradition and power from the south.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
