Primitivo Salento IGP is a powerful and sultry red wine made entirely from 100% Primitivo grapes grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of Maruggio, Lizzano and Torricella. This area in the heart of Salento is known for its exceptional suitability for producing full-bodied, aromatic wines with character and depth. The grapes are harvested by hand in early September, after which vinification and ageing take place in stainless steel tanks and in bottle to preserve the pure expression of the fruit.
In the glass, the wine shows a very intense ruby red colour with purple hues. The bouquet is complex and expressive, with pronounced aromas of ripe blackberries and plums. On the palate, the wine is soft and full-bodied, with intense and persistent flavours that are at the same time powerful and enjoyably drinkable. Its silky texture and full-bodied character make it irresistible to lovers of solid red wines.
With an alcohol content of 15%, this Primitivo is ideally suited to serve with robust pasta dishes, red meat, game and hard cheeses. Pour the wine at 16-18 °C to fully unleash its rich aromas and full flavour. An authentic Salento wine that effortlessly combines power and charm.
