Chiaro della Serra IGT Ravenna Bianco is a refined and fresh white wine, from vineyards around Serra di Castel Bolognese at an altitude of 180 metres. The planting dates from 2017 and is on sandy soils that provide tension and lightness. The blend of 60% Bianchino Faentino and 40% Chardonnay combines local identity with international elegance. The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of August, just when freshness and aromatic refinement are optimally balanced.
A gentle pressing of whole bunches is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation at 12 to 14 degrees. The wine then undergoes cold tartaric acid stabilisation and matures for about three months in glass-lined concrete vats. This neutral aging preserves the purity of the fruit and enhances the fresh, precise style of the wine, after which bottling and further bottle aging follow.
In the glass, Chiaro della Serra shows a bright straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose is fine and delicate, with fresh floral notes and a slight fruitiness. On the palate, the wine is dry and juicy, with lively freshness and a clean, invigorating finish. Served at 8 to 10 degrees, this is an elegant wine that is excellent as an aperitif or with light dishes.
