This Silvaner comes from the limestone-rich vineyards of Leistadt in the Palatinate and is a pure expression of terroir and precision. The wine is made from 100% Silvaner grown on limestone soils, which imparts a distinct minerality and tension. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation and then age for 15 months in used small oak barrels, after which the wine is bottled unfiltered to fully preserve its character.
On the nose, the wine displays a bright and refined aroma profile with notes of yellow fruits, complemented by subtle nuances of nuts and earthy, vegetal accents. On the palate, the wine is cool, fresh, and elegant, with a fine, crisp acidity and a slightly creamy texture. The combination of minerality, yeast notes, and a hint of spice gives the wine a layered and intriguing character.
The finish is dry, refined, and lingering, with a beautiful balance between freshness and structure. This Silvaner is an excellent gastronomic wine that pairs well with vegetable dishes, asparagus, light fish dishes, poultry, and refined vegetarian cuisine. Its character also comes through particularly well with dishes featuring earthy notes.
