Domaine Désertaux-Ferrand's Côte de Nuits-Villages Blanc 2024 is an exceptional and elegant white Burgundy from an appellation best known for its red wines. This rare white Côte de Nuits combines the power and finesse of Chardonnay with the refined freshness of Pinot Blanc, a grape variety still rarely found in Burgundy. Old vines up to seventy-five years old add depth, complexity and terroir expression.
On the nose, the wine opens with delicate aromas of white fruit, citrus, flowers and subtle wood tones. On the palate, it shows richness and elegance, with a nice balance of creaminess, fresh acidity and mineral tension. Two thirds of the wine matures for eight months in oak barrels, 20 per cent of which is new wood, adding structure and refinement without losing freshness. The part aged in stainless steel retains the wine's vibrant fruit expression and purity. The addition of Pinot Blanc adds extra finesse and unique character to this special cuvée.
This Côte de Nuits-Villages Blanc pairs excellently with refined fish dishes, seafood, creamy sauces and gourmet French cuisine. Its elegant and complex style also comes out beautifully with poultry and soft cheeses. An exceptional white Burgundy full of finesse, depth and rare Burgundian charm.
