The Côte de Nuits-Villages "Les Perrières" 2023 from Domaine Désertaux-Ferrand is a powerful and refined red Burgundy from a superbly located vineyard in the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir combines intense fruit expression with classic Burgundian elegance and impressive ageing potential. The favourable location of the vineyard and careful manual harvesting create a wine with great depth, finesse and terroir character.
On the nose, the wine opens with refined aromas of red fruit, ripe cherries and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it shows richness and harmony, with juicy fruitiness, refined tannins and a lovely fresh structure that lingers for a long time. Traditional vinification with complete de-stemming, cold maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts adds aromatic complexity and elegance. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 15 per cent of which are new wood, followed by a further five months of tank aging. This gives the wine extra depth, refinement and balance without overpowering the fruit.
This Côte de Nuits-Villages pairs excellently with game dishes, red meat and mature cheeses. Thanks to its structure and storage potential, the wine develops beautifully with several years of bottle aging. The wine was awarded a gold medal at the Concours des Grands Vins de Mâcon 2025, a prestigious award within Burgundy. A characterful Pinot Noir full of finesse, depth and classic Burgundian elegance.
