Lyrides Blanc 2021 comes from the exceptional Domaine du Météore estate, where the vineyards grow in and around a meteorite crater that came down here around 10,000 years ago. This unique location in the Haut-Languedoc, nestled at some 300m altitude on schist soils, contributes to a distinct terroir expression: deep minerality, fresh acidity and an aromatic echo of the surrounding garrigue landscape full of wild thyme, fennel and cistus.
The blend of 50% Clairette and 50% Rolle comes from around 25-year-old vines deeply rooted in this schist-rich soil, ensuring low yields and intense flavour concentration. The grapes are directly pressed and fermented in new Burgundy oak barrels, followed by 12 months sur lie aging in 500-litre barrels. This vinification process gives the wine structure and finesse without losing its fresh, mineral tension.
In the glass, Lyrides Blanc 2021 shows a straw yellow colour with aromas of vanilla, pear, white pepper and quince, and an elegant, slightly creamy mouth with a long, refined finish. This wine is the perfect combination of terroir expression and gastronomic complexity.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
