Léonides Rouge 2022 is a characterful expression of Faugères' blue schist terroir. The average 30-year-old vines root deeply in the stony soils, creating concentration, tension and a distinct mineral signature. The blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault brings together power and refinement in a wine that elegantly translates the southern character of the region.
The grapes are destemmed but not crushed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks. A long four-week maceration ensures extraction of colour, structure and aromatic depth. The wine then matures for no less than 28 months in steel, fully preserving the purity of the fruit and expression of the terroir. At 14% alcohol, it offers balance between intensity and freshness.
In the glass, Léonides Rouge shows a deep garnet-red colour. The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, complemented by spicy notes of pepper and typical garrigue herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with a lively structure and a slightly spicy finish. A refined and authentic representation of schist, sunshine and Mediterranean elegance.
