Product description
The Vallée d'Olmè Rosso 2024 is the red wine from Azienda Agricola Francesco Loi, made from 100% Perricone of the rare Guarnaccio biotype, grown at an altitude of 850 metres in the Madonie. Perricone is one of Sicily’s most distinctive and little-known indigenous red grape varieties, elegant and deeply rooted in its terroir. After a maceration of around 10 days with 20 per cent whole bunches, the wine is aged partly in French oak barriques (50 per cent) and partly in stainless steel (50 per cent), which gives the wine its characteristic balance between fruitiness, herbal notes and a subtle hint of oak.
In the glass, the Rosso displays a bright ruby red colour. The nose is enticing and aromatic, with notes of cherries in spirit and rose petals. On the palate, the wine is soft and fresh, persistent, with noticeable yet gentle tannins and an elegant, lingering finish. A red wine that reflects its terroir in an honest and direct way.
The Vallée d’Olmè Rosso pairs excellently with grilled red meat, hearty pasta dishes and mature cheeses. Its elegant structure and fresh acidity also make it a fine accompaniment to game or stewed meat on a cooler evening.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
