Product description
Cappella III is one of the chapels within the monumental complex of the Sacro Monte di Crea, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As early as the 17th century, the estate’s founder, Giorgio Tenaglia, sponsored the artistic decoration of this chapel. Today, the chapel is in need of restoration, and Tenuta La Tenaglia is following in its founder’s footsteps: a portion of the proceeds from this wine goes towards the restoration work on Cappella III.
Cappella III is made from 100% Barbera del Monferrato. Fermentation takes place at 28–29°C in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and three to four months’ ageing in the bottle. In the glass, it is a deep ruby red. The nose offers notes of black cherries and raspberries. On the palate, it is silky, well-balanced and rich, with herbal accents.
A wine to enjoy throughout a meal, pairing well with pasta, white and red meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at 17–18°C.
