Le Serpi is a powerful and characterful red wine from Tuscany, produced by Fattoria Pagnana. This IGT Rosso Toscano is an elegant blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, from vineyards with rich soils and favourable microclimates that contribute to the wine's complexity.
Fermentation takes place in cement vats with a gradually decreasing number of remontages, in prolonged contact with the skins. Only indigenous yeasts are used in this process. After fermentation, the wine matures for six months in cement and then 12 months partly in tonneaux and partly in barriques, followed by at least another six months of bottle aging. The result is an intense ruby red wine with fragrant notes of blackcurrant, amarena cherry, plum, spices and a subtle balsamic undertone. The palate is full, well-balanced and long-lasting, with a robust structure and firm tannins.
Le Serpi pairs excellently with grilled or roasted red meats and aged cheeses. Thanks to its depth and balance, this wine is an ideal companion to rich meals and festive dinners.
