Product description
This Chianti from Fattoria Pagnana is a classic representative of the Tuscan wine tradition, made from Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks with decreasing intensity of over-pumping, in contact with the skins for a fortnight. Only indigenous yeasts are used in this process, contributing to the expression of the terroir. Maturation takes place partly in cement tanks and partly in bottle, making for a balanced and elegant wine.
In the glass, this Chianti shows with a bright ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers refined aromas of red fruits such as cherries and plums, floral notes of violets and a subtle hint of leather. On the palate, the wine presents itself harmoniously and juicy, with a fresh, medium body and a surprisingly long finish. The texture is refined, the flavour profile balanced and lively - exactly what one expects from an authentic Chianti.
This wine comes out particularly well with grilled white meat, such as chicken or pork from the barbecue. Semi-aged cheeses also make a tasty combination with the fruity and floral elegance of this wine. An ideal choice for a dinner with classic Tuscan dishes or a drinks board with Italian delicacies.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
