The Olimpia IGT Toscana from Fattoria Valacchi is a powerful and elegant red wine that reflects the essence of the Tuscan terroir. The wine is composed of 40% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Syrah, sourced from the estate's oldest vines in Barberino Val d'Elsa. The harvest is done entirely by hand, selecting only the best bunches. Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately to preserve its optimal ripeness and character. Fermentation takes more than three weeks, after which the wines are blended and aged in French oak tonneaux for 24 months, followed by a 7-9-month refinement in bottle.
In the glass, the Olimpia shows a deep ruby colour with brilliant reflections. The nose is complex and inviting, with notes of ripe red fruits, blackcurrants, liquorice and a subtle spiciness of pepper and oak. On the palate, the wine presents itself full and velvety, with an excellent balance between power and elegance. Maturation in wood lends it structure and depth, while the Sangiovese provides lively freshness and the Syrah and Cabernet contribute spiciness and body. The finish is long, harmonious and refined - a wine that proudly conveys its Tuscan heritage.
