Brachetto d’Acqui is an ancient native grape variety from the southern parts of the Asti and Alessandria provinces, with its ideal home in 26 small towns surrounding Acqui Terme. As early as the 1600s, Giovan Battista Croce developed the method—also used for Moscato d’Asti—of halting fermentation through repeated filtration and cold to preserve the grape’s natural sugars.
Unlike Moscato d’Asti, Brachetto d’Acqui undergoes a brief maceration, giving it a delicate pale red color that pairs beautifully with its signature aroma reminiscent of rose petals.
The result is a light, aromatic red wine with a gentle sparkle, unique in the world. It retains the floral and fruity essence of the Brachetto grape, with a low alcohol content of around 5% Vol. perfectly balanced by natural sweetness and fresh acidity. A delightful companion to strawberry desserts, chocolate cakes, or as an elegant finish to a summer meal.
