Weinhaus am Mauerberg
Baden-Baden, Neuweier
The Weinhaus am Mauerberg in Baden-Baden has carried a rich tradition of winemaking with it since 1922. Once founded by 58 courageous winemakers who wanted to free themselves from the economic dependence on wholesalers, it grew into a thriving house connecting present and future. From four villages in the Baden-Baden Rebland - Neuweier, Steinbach, Umweg and Varnhalt - passionate winemakers work on sustainable vineyards, where noble grape varieties such as Riesling, Spätburgunder and international varieties like Chardonnay flourish. The steep slopes of 'Neuweierer Mauerberg' and 'Umweger Stich den Buben' are among Germany's most unusual terroirs, with soils of granite weathering, loam and porphyry. Wines with distinct character, finesse and terroir specificity are created here.
