Product description
This wine makes a bold statement right from the start. The name is no coincidence, nor is it a marketing ploy: it is a clear stand for an open society and against exclusion. Philippe and Tanja design their own labels, and this is the most striking example of that. This wine is for people who also appreciate character and backbone in their glass. Because that is exactly what the Anti-Fascist Orange has: it is honest, direct and unpolished in the best possible way.
The Riesling from the Maringer Honigberg undergoes Maischegärung, also known as skin contact or maceration. The grapes ferment together with the skins, which gives the wine its deeper colour, its body and its distinctive aromatic profile. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, ageing in a neutral 500-litre French tonneau, no filtration, no fining and minimal sulphur added just before bottling. Pure, honest and uncompromising. In the glass, it is a warm golden-orange colour. The nose is expressive and distinctive: dried orange peel, wild sage and a cool, smoky slate minerality that comes straight from the steep slope. On the palate, it is dry and lively, with a pleasant grip and a long, mineral finish.
A wine for ambitious home cooks who aren’t afraid to make a statement at the table. It pairs superbly with homemade pasta with sage butter, braised fennel with lemon, pan-fried chanterelles or a ripe, full-bodied mountain cheese. Serve at 12–14°C.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
