Maison Philippe Grisard's Audacieuse is an expressive red wine from Savoy, made from 100% Mondeuse, a grape known for its lively character and spicy depth. This wine perfectly reflects its mountainous origins: fresh, energetic and powerful at the same time.
In the glass, the wine shows a lively style in which fruit and spice go hand in hand. Aromas of dark red fruit are complemented by spicy accents, making for a dynamic and tantalising whole. The fresh acids and lively tannins give the wine tension and structure, while the relatively light alcohol makes it surprisingly drinkable.
With age, the wine develops beautifully: youthful power gives way to more depth and softer tannins, while the fruit ripens beautifully and becomes more complex. Ideal with grilled meats, and after a few years of ageing also a wonderful match with cheeses such as Reblochon.
