Leo Aumann's Chardonnay Ried Bockfuss 2022 is a powerful and elegant wine from the Thermenregion, where sun, altitude and soil come together in a distinct terroir. Located on loamy sandy soils in Baden bei Wien, the vineyard offers ideal conditions for a ripe, concentrated Chardonnay with depth and storage potential.
On the nose, the wine opens with a tropical aroma, bringing together notes of citrus, vanilla and subtle toasty notes. On the palate, it shows its full character, with ripe fruit such as passion fruit, combined with refined wood influences and a soft, round structure. The balance between fruit, fraîcheur and wood gives the wine a layered and harmonious style.
The wine matures for 12 months in new 500-litre oak barrels and undergoes malolactic fermentation, adding complexity and creaminess. The result is a full-bodied Chardonnay with a long, elegant finish and great storage potential - a wine that will only develop further with age.
