Barolo “Ravera” by Abrigo Giovanni is a structured yet elegant wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious MGA “Ravera” area of Novello. Located at 400 meters above sea level with southeast exposure, the vineyard’s calcareous and clay-rich fossil marl soil contributes to the wine’s freshness, structure, and long aging potential. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a 30-day submerged cap maceration, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
The wine is aged for 38 months—23 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, then matured in concrete vats and bottle. In the glass, it shows a rich garnet hue with a refined bouquet of wild rose, dried flowers, chamomile, and subtle cedar. On the palate, it reveals depth, silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a lingering, harmonious finish that reflects the identity of its terroir.
Barolo “Ravera” is best paired with braised beef, venison, aged cheeses, or hearty pasta dishes. Adventurous wine lovers may also enjoy it with dark chocolate. Serve between 18–20 °C for best expression.
